Our Mission

Ruston Youth Advocacy through the Arts is committed to an attitude of positivity and excellence by supporting band directors, students, parents, and music programs in Lincoln Parish through:

  • Financial support through fundraising for music equipment, music scholarships, music education personnel, and other music-related needs.
  • Volunteers for musical and theatrical events.
  • Engaging new parents and youth through the Arts.

Our Philosophy

RYAA is committed to supporting the educational development of today's students through hands-on, interactive learning and achievement in the musical and theatrical arts.


Our Purpose

RYAA supports the arts in Lincoln Parish primarily by supplementing the RHS Band Program's budget. Examples of annual expenditures include:

  • Musical equipment
  • Instruments
  • Instrument repair
  • Student meals
  • Student social events
  • Truck and trailer maintenance
  • Audio and video equipment
  • Software
  • Show props
  • Costumes
  • Uniforms
  • Continuing education
  • Musical arranging
  • Drill design
  • Travel
  • Fundraisers
  • Concession stand, food, supplies, and labor
